Creating a Culture Around Professional Growth

Scholarships Help Our Employees Accelerate and Thrive in Their Careers

The Innovetive Petcare culture is centered around professional growth and career development and it is important we provide opportunities for our employees to receive certification towards becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM). With Penn Foster, our employees now have the ability to work and study at their own pace through an interactive, online curriculum and receive such courses such as animal anatomy, physiology, veterinary practice management, pharmacology, and animal nutrition. This program is fully accredited by the AVMA’s Committee on Veterinary Technician Education & Activities (CVTEA), and is geared towards preparing individuals to pass the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE).

Since 2021, our relationship with Penn Foster has allowed Innovetive Petcare to grant over $100,000 in scholarship funds, catapulting the skill sets of 27 of our employees across 15 veterinary practices. These scholarships not only alleviate financial burden on our employees, certification helps them expand clinical and practical knowledge at their practice, adopt cutting-edge techniques with confidence and obtain veterinary acumen, helping them take better care of clients and patients.

We wanted to take an opportunity to spotlight several Penn Foster scholarship recipients this Spring.

Congratulations to Christy Ha at Animal Emergency & Specialty Center – Chattanooga. With over 21 years of veterinary experience, Christy received one of our first Penn Foster scholarships. She quickly progressed from triage to a full-time role in the Intensive Care Unit and now shares her experience and hands-on approach by mentoring others.

Marty Bernal completed his first semester of the Penn Foster Technician program with straight A’s and on the Dean’s List. Marty completed the program while working full-time and is thrilled to support his DVMs and patients at Metro Paws Animal Hospital – Skillman. Katie Brown, Technician Supervisor at Metro Paws Animal Hospital – White Rock, hosted a dental X-Ray lab for her staff in order to teach the new radiograph techniques she learned since recently receiving her Certified Veterinary Assistant (CVA) Certification.

Brittani Barrett of Sun Dog Cat Moon Veterinary Clinic in Johns Island, SC, was awarded her Penn Foster scholarship this year and eager to elevate her career as a veterinary leader in her clinic.

Angela Franco, a Licensed Veterinarian Technician at Animal Emergency & Specialty Center – Knoxville has started her journey towards becoming a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM).
