Summary of Externship: The extern will be placed in the three main departments in our hospital: Outpatient, Inpatient and Surgery. In each department they will observe and participate to the degree their mentor is comfortable with their proficiency. We have only hosted two-week externships in the past but are open to whatever the student needs. Students who are self-motivated and not hesitant to get involved will get the most out of the experience.

Summary of Externship: This externship is for a mixed rural practice where no two days are ever the same. We service canine, feline, equine, porcine, etc. Our hospital patient rounds are from 7:30 am to 8:00 am, and appointments and drop-offs start at 8:00 am. Doctors rotate between farm calls, walk-ins, hospital patients, appointments, emergencies and getting surgeries started.
